Melissa is a talented artist who has been an art educator for 21 years. She is also a  certified yoga instructor.  She founded The Heart In Art as an inclusive environment dedicated to inspiring & supporting students with challenges.

Kathryn Schofield


Music, Movement, Academic Tutoring

Kathy has been teacher for 36 years. Her diverse experience in elementary & early childhood education, and music includes in-depth abilities with mild, moderate & severe special needs. She has Master’s degree in special education from Simmons College.

Tim Maxwell


Music Classes & Lessons

Timothy is a freelance musician/educator who has been teaching & performing for a decade.  His musical talents include piano & percussion.  Tim has extensive experience working with students of varying physical & cognitive disabilities.  

Cidalia Pina


Art & Nature Sciences

Cidalia has a background in Art, Horticulture & Nature Sciences, with a focus on ecology. She spends much of her time encouraging the exploration of science & art as platforms for engaging children and getting them excited about learning. 

Vicki Weiners & Meg Needham


Yoga & Healing Arts

Meg Needham is a Kripalu yoga certified, hatha & vinyasa teacher.

Vicki Weiners is an avid & enthusiastic, certified yoga instructor.

Jodi Janz-Carleton



Jodi has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in photography and sculpture, as well as a Master’s degree in Information Technology.

Jodi has been tutoring students with challenges in creative arts for 12 years.

She has been using her skills with art and technology to author and illustrate children’s books since 2013. She is the mother of three special needs children ages 8 to 22 and is currently working towards her Master’s in Elementary Education.
